Home Lighting Selection · Tokyo
Choosing the right light changes how a room feels to live in. This is a relaxed conversation about your home — the way each space is used, what the light does now, and what you'd rather it do. We find options together, and you decide at your own pace.
What this service gives you
By the end of our consultation, you'll have a clear, curated list of lighting options that fit your rooms — not a generic catalogue of whatever's trending, but a considered selection built around how you use your space and what kind of atmosphere you want to come home to.
You'll also have a clearer sense of brightness levels, colour warmth, and how different fixtures behave at different times of day. That kind of knowledge stays useful long after the consultation ends.
Clarity about your options
You'll leave knowing exactly what to look for and why — no more second-guessing in showrooms.
Room-by-room thinking
Each room gets its own attention — living room, bedroom, kitchen, and wherever else matters to you.
A home that feels like yours
The atmosphere you've been reaching for becomes something you can actually describe — and find.
Something we hear often
Most people know when a room's lighting isn't quite right — the overhead light is too stark, the corner stays dark by evening, or a new fixture looks smaller in the room than it did in the catalogue. But knowing something's off and knowing how to fix it are two different things.
Showrooms can feel overwhelming. Online options are endless. And the technical side — wattage, colour temperature, fixture scale — quickly becomes more reading than anyone wants to do when they just want their home to look and feel better.
That gap between what you want and what you actually choose is where we tend to come in. We're familiar with the confusion, and we don't think it needs to be that hard.
You've moved into a new home and the lighting came with it — and it's never quite felt right
You've bought a fixture you liked in a shop and it looked wrong once it was up
You're renovating or refreshing a room and lighting keeps getting put off because it feels complicated
You know what mood you want a room to have, but you can't figure out what light creates it
Our approach
This service is advisory. We don't show up with a product list or a quota to fill. We sit with you — in your space or by phone — and talk about your home the way a thoughtful friend with lighting knowledge might.
01
We ask about how you use each room, what the light feels like now, what bothers you, and what you're hoping for. No assumptions.
02
Chandeliers, recessed lighting, pendant fixtures, desk lamps — we walk through what makes sense for each room and why, without technical overload.
03
After the consultation, we share a curated list of specific fixtures and sources you can review at home, with notes on why each one was chosen for your space.
04
We cover colour temperature, lumen levels, and how layering light sources changes a room's character — the fundamentals, explained plainly.
05
You take the shortlist home and decide when you're ready. We're available for follow-up questions if something comes up as you think it through.
06
If you decide to go ahead with LED installation afterward, we already know your space — so there's no need to start the conversation over.
What it's actually like
Most consultations take about an hour. We can do them by phone or video, or if you'd prefer, we come to your home — which tends to give us a much clearer picture of the space and how light moves through it at different times.
There's no sales pressure during the session. We'll ask questions more than we'll make suggestions at first, because a good lighting recommendation has to start from listening, not from assumptions about what you want.
Afterward, you'll receive a written shortlist — usually within a day or two — that you can look through at your own pace, share with a partner, or bring to a showroom with confidence.
You'll feel heard, not talked at — we genuinely want to understand how you use your home
The technical side will feel approachable — we translate it into plain language without skipping what matters
You'll walk away with a clear sense of what you want — and a concrete list of where to find it
No follow-up calls unless you want them — we respect that decisions take time
The investment
¥18,000
One-time consultation fee
This service works out to a single session fee — there are no packages, subscriptions, or add-ons involved. If you later decide to go ahead with installation, we apply a portion of the consultation fee toward that booking.
The value here isn't just the shortlist — it's the time you won't spend second-guessing decisions, and the money you won't spend on fixtures that don't work in your actual rooms.
We're happy to discuss timing and availability before you commit to anything. A short message is all it takes to start.
How we approach it
We've worked through lighting questions in a range of Tokyo homes — compact apartments in Shibuya, older family houses in quieter neighbourhoods, and newly built places where the developer's lighting choices were a starting point rather than a final word. Each situation teaches us something about how light behaves differently in different spaces.
Our shortlists are grounded in what's actually available from quality suppliers in Japan — not just international references that take months to arrive. We think about installation requirements when we make suggestions, so the options we share are ones you can realistically pursue.
You have a clear shortlist in hand. Many people find they're able to move forward on at least one room within a couple of weeks of the consultation.
As fixtures are sourced and conversations with installers happen, people often come back with follow-up questions. We're available by email for those.
Many clients return when they're refreshing another room. The foundation the consultation builds tends to stay useful for a long time.
Our commitment
If our consultation doesn't give you a clearer picture of your lighting options and a practical shortlist to work from, we'll continue the conversation until it does — at no additional charge.
We also offer a short introductory call before you book — so you can ask questions, get a feel for how we work, and decide whether it seems like a good fit. There's no obligation attached to that call.
How to begin
Use the form on our homepage. Tell us a little about your home and what's prompting the question — even a sentence or two is enough.
We'll acknowledge your message, ask a couple of clarifying questions if needed, and suggest a time for a short introductory call or the consultation itself.
We work around your schedule, and there's no pressure to book immediately. When the timing feels right, we'll be ready.
Reach out through our contact form and we'll take it from there. No commitment, no sales call — just a straightforward conversation about your space.
